Let's Talk About: The Safe Space Club
Nearly half of all women experience some form of sexual violence in their lives. Did you know that 50% of victims do not seek help? This is usually not done through shame. The Safe Space Club can reach these victims. This way, those who need help also receive the necessary guidance. The Safe Space Club is a team of volunteers who assist victims of sexual violence with tailor-made help. The target? Breaking vicious circles of sexual violence.
The Safe Space Club, an initiative of the Together We Rise Foundation (TWR), was founded by Sara Alaoui-Dekker. Sara Dekker, herself a victim of sexual violence, encountered numerous problems during her recovery process. She couldn't find the help she needed. “Most organizations feel cold, professional and distant,” says Sara. “This must be possible differently,” Sara thought.
After sexual violence you are looking for recognition, recognition and, above all, a warm bath that you can get into. A place where you will be warmly welcomed. As an expert by experience, Sara wants to share her knowledge and, above all, prevent others from ending up in the same cold, chilly bath.
Together we Rise Foundation
Together we Rise, hereinafter referred to as TWR, strives to break the taboo surrounding sex and sexual violence. Drawing attention to the complexity surrounding the processing of sexual violence is what TWR wants to draw attention to.
TWR collaborates with various organizations, such as: Municipality of Amsterdam, Center for Sexual Violence, The Red Cross, GGD Amsterdam, Steunpunt Sexual Violence, SportsGen and various youth organizations.

I want help!
It really doesn't matter what form of sexual violence or inappropriate behavior you have experienced, you are welcome at The Safe Space Club. You don't have to explain anything, you will be understood here! Your feeling counts!
The Safe Space Club can be reached via Chat, Whatsapp, and Instagram DM!
You will always receive a response within 4 hours (during the day) from one of our experts: from someone who has ever experienced sexual violence. From someone who really understands you and who can help you further.
The method
Through The Safe Space Care Project (individually or in groups), TWR offers victims the recognition, guidance and support they need and gives them the opportunity to gain insight into themselves and their trauma in an accessible way.
Another important part of this program is that it prepares the women for trauma therapy. During the program they gain insights and tools that they need to handle such a process. In addition, together with the other participants, they are building a support group where they can also go for help after the program.
The Safe Space Care Project consists of eight (joint) meetings and eight hours of one-on-one guidance over eight months. The goal is to meet monthly and share information and knowledge that will enable victims to take charge of their own recovery process. In addition, each participant has one hour per month available for personal guidance that they can tailor to their own needs. Participants can choose from a total of twelve workshops. During the intake interviews it is determined which eight workshops best suit the group/individual and their needs
