YES, yes, really nice weather is finally coming, if we can believe the weather report. The terrace season is therefore fully open if it is up to us. But where will you drink the tastiest glass of aperol or ice-cold rose in the sun in Amsterdam?
Amsterdam is a big city and has a lot to offer. But finding a nice terrace in the summer can be difficult. Because of the many buildings you are often just in the shade or it becomes very stuffy. But, look no further! Today we show you our 5 favorite terraces in Amsterdam. Places where you are guaranteed to sit comfortably with a nice drink and snack on the table!

1. The Plantation
The plantation located in the Plantagebuurt is certainly on the list of the best terraces in Amsterdam. The plantation is located on a small square in Artis. A wonderfully cozy and pleasant terrace. Here you are within walking distance of all the animals in Artis. When you sit outside you also have a view of the beautiful spoonbills and flamingos of Artis.
You can come here for breakfast, lunch, drinks and dinner. So fun all day long if you ask us. The drinks menu consists of delicious snacks such as Hummus with warm pitas, mushroom croquettes and much more. If you stay until dinner, there is much more waiting for you. From ravioli, fish stew to the best cod fillet.
Then the most important thing of the day; the drinks!
The plantation has an extensive wine list. With red, white, pink and sparkling dragons. This lovely terrace also has a cocktail menu. Yehees! The cocktail menu contains the tastiest gin & tonics and special cocktails. Take for example the Earl Gray Martini with Earl Gray Gin, lemon juice, egg white!
Tasting drinks all day long, accompanied by tasty snacks if you ask me.

2. Waterfront Amsterdam
Waterkant was founded in 2014 and is inspired by 'De Waterkant', in the heart of Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. Waterkant is located in the heart of Amsterdam, but not in the hustle and bustle of it. Waterkant consists of a cozy terrace along the Suriname River where you can experience the famous Surinamese hospitality and enjoy delicious multicultural snacks and drinks. Because of the similarities, it was only logical to bring that heart-warming atmosphere to Amsterdam.
At De Waterkant you can enjoy a snack and a drink. But also for a dance!
Every Friday from 2300-0300 this restaurant turns into a beautiful dance club. With the sounds of African and Surinamese beats, mixed with some R&B and Hip Hop to create a unique and unforgettable experience.
A good drink on the terrace naturally includes a good bite to eat. You can definitely eat good food at the waterfront!
Fried cod croquettes, saoto soup, Gado gado and much more. My mouth is already watering just thinking about this.
