At Pavo Couture, we believe that lingerie shouldn't just be beautiful but also feel good, inside and out. That's why we choose sustainable lingerie : stylishly designed, produced with respect for people, animals, and the planet.

But what does sustainable lingerie actually mean? And how do we ensure that our collections are not only aesthetically pleasing but also ethically sound? We'll tell you more about our sustainable lingerie.

🌿 What is sustainable lingerie?

Sustainable lingerie is lingerie that is produced responsibly. This means:

• use of environmentally friendly and/or certified materials,

• fair wages and good working conditions for makers,

• transparency in the chain,

• less waste and longer product life.

At Pavo Couture, we're mindful of every aspect of this process. Our lingerie is designed in the Netherlands and lovingly crafted in small, carefully selected workshops across Europe. This keeps communication lines short and impact low.

💡 What does sustainable lingerie mean to us?

For us, sustainability goes beyond simply using eco-friendly fabrics. It also means considering who makes our lingerie, under what conditions , and how long our products last.

We work exclusively with European workshops that we know personally, no mass production, but craftsmanship and attention.

🧵 Our workshops: small-scale, transparent and certified

Pavo Couture's sustainable lingerie is produced in three carefully selected workshops in Europe:

• Valérius Hub (Portugal): This modern workshop is a leader in sustainability. They hold certifications such as:

  • GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard): guarantees organic fabrics and good social conditions.

  • GRS (Global Recycle Standard): recognizes the use of recycled materials.

  • Oeko-Tex Standard 100 : ensures that all fabrics are free from harmful chemicals.

  • Fair Trade , ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 – for fair trade and environmental management.

• Sanda (North Macedonia): An experienced producer that has been BSCI-certified since 2013. This means that they regularly monitor safe working conditions, fair wages, working hours, and the right to a safe and respectful work environment.

• Sia Markennn (Latvia): A small family-run workshop with which we maintain direct contact. Although there is no official certification, we consciously choose this partnership because of the personal contact, transparency, and passion for the craft.

🌱 Living wage and safe working conditions

We strive to ensure that everyone in our supply chain receives a living wage . Not the absolute minimum, but enough to live comfortably. At Valérius and Sanda, this is done under the supervision of international standards and audits. At Sia Markennn, we personally discuss rates, workload, and balance, and we personally monitor the work environment.
